Apprenticeship training as a bank clerk, temporary employment with a renowned German private bank. Study of law at the University of Cologne. During his studies, work with a group in the European Parliament in Brussels and Straßbourg. Doctorate in 2003 with a thesis on European Law.  Admitted as a lawyer in 2001.

Lectures and publications on white collar criminal law and the law on criminal procedure. Member of the Working Group Criminal Law in the German Lawyers' Association (Deutscher Anwaltverein e.V., DAV), the White Collar Criminal Law Association (Wirtschaftsstrafrechtliche Vereinigung e.V., WisteV) as well as the Association for European Criminal Law (Vereinigung für Europäisches Strafrecht e.V.).

Advice and defense in white collar criminal law, tax criminal law and criminal law related to physicians. Particular focus on bank-related advice and defense (bank criminal law) as well as in IP criminal law (in particular, patent criminal law). In addition, appearance as witness counsel (for example, before parliamentary investigation committees).

According to domestic and foreign branch publications (JUVE, Best Lawyers Germany/Handelsblatt, Who's Who Legal; Euromoney Expert Guides) frequently recommended lawyer for many years in the area of white collar criminal law ("achieves excellent results"; "excellent specialist know-how"; "professional, efficient, competent"; "meticulous"; "agreeable collaboration"; "top-notch"; "reasoned, pragmatic advice").
